Model airplane engine carburation
Carburizing two-stroke engines:
Over 25 years have I read modeler countless articles on how a motor octane of model airplanes, all very good, but some too complicated. We will try to explain in simplified form

The first rules are 4:
1. The tank must be mounted correctly, with no loss of pressure can be tested in the sink at home, completely immersing it in water and blowing down a tube covering to locate other possible bubbles.
2. You have to take the tube from the carburetor always on the road shorter and straight, carefully check the pipes, brass (not aluminum) have no burrs, cut off the silicone tube, if necessary filing the tubes mouths.
3. Pay close attention to the correct fuel filter, advisable to use a filter into the carafe, carafe outside and next to the carburetor, it is also advisable to use synthetic oil, not lower than 18%.
4. The spark plug should be adequate, depending on the environment, this shows us the engine itself, it is desirable to insert in the clamp switch current to cut and simultaneously without removing the clamp on the motor.
ENGINE STARTING PROCEDURE:
1. Fill the tank full
2. Prime the engine, plugging the exhaust and turn the propeller with force, 10 times minimum, tucking fuel through the carburetor, always with the carburetor completely open (the position of the helix at the beginning of compression is that of the 8 and 10 hours according to a clock)
3. With the carburetor idle hand turn another 10 times.
4. Place the current probe and turn the propeller tightly (use gloves) or put the starter.
5. If everything is correct the motor starts running smoothly.
TUNING:
1. We'll let the engine warm at least 1 minute.
2. Accelerate slowly to maximal speed.
3. The needles of high and low are completely independent.
4. Will close or will open the needle valve to achieve maximum speed (a tachometer is highly recommended).
5. Close the carburetor until third more or less.
6. It's time to cut power to the switch in between, two things can happen
a). That the engine revs change - correct spark plug.
b). Change the engine sound and the speed down - wrong plug. Should be replaced with another more hot filament thinner and consume less than the previous one amp.
With the engine running withdrew the forceps.
7. With the carburetor idle speed at once, it may take three things:
a). The motor to accelerate without fail - Right.
b). The motor stops during acceleration or so suddenly - Incorrect.
We will open the needle down 5 in 5 minutes by the clock, every time we go down the carburetor idle wait 6 seconds and suddenly accelerate, repeat until the transition is correct.
c). To accelerate the engine sputtering finish and white fuming exhaust, (more than normal).
Close the needle down 5 in 5 minutes until the transition is correct: waiting 6 seconds to idle and let the high take maximum revs. When this is all right to open two high points of the needle, place the model at 45 degrees and if nothing happens to fly.
