QR Codes the Future of Barcode

A QR code is a data matrix code or two-dimensional bar created by the Japanese company Denso-Wave in 1994. The letters "QR" is derived from the English phrase "Quick Response" as the creator of the code sought to allow its contents to be read at high speed. QR Codes are common in Japan and in fact are two-dimensional code more popular in that country.

Although initially used to record parts in the area of vehicle manufacturing, QR codes are now used for inventory management in a wide variety of industries. Recently, the inclusion of QR Code reading software on mobile phones in Japan has spawned new consumer-oriented applications, which are reflected in amenities such as giving up having to manually enter data on the phones. The addresses and URLs are becoming increasingly common in Japanese magazines and advertisements. The addition of QR codes on business cards is also becoming common, greatly simplifying the task of making individual details of a new customer on the agenda of a mobile phone.

Well, Nokia has begun to include bar code readers and QR matrix codes in their mobile number N. This sounded a year ago to "too distant future," and it is available to users of many mobile camera.
